![]() ![]() Just finished the game, so I'll provide my take on the ending. ![]() We humans are not "meant" to understand or experience these things, and if we try to, we are just facilitating our own doom. But that's probably in line with Lovecraft's work. Either you're slowly dying in an alien dimension, or you're losing your humanity. I don't really have enough knowledge about the Cthulhu myth to speculate what that creature would be and how your future life would look like, so I'll leave that to the experts. "Shed your deteriorating skin", as Faust puts it, and transform into a different creature, which can apparently survive in the dimension where humans can't. From the final scene, it is not clear whether you just keep shifting around through time and space, or whether you jumped backwards in time and will live through the following events again - both options seem possible.Ģ. The plant mixture will ease the pain of your inevitable physical deterioration, but you will die eventually. You have transcended human limitations, but as a result, your body and mind are now deteriorating. Basically, you have dabbled with things that the human mind and body are not designed to deal with. Faust explains the two endings in his final monologue. In theory, getting 100% completion could unlock another ending, but I doubt it. It would surprise me if there were more - I can't see anything else to do on the final map, and information does not seem to be transferred between the maps (inventories get reset, etc.), so I wouldn't even know where to look for a third ending. If anyone has any inputs, please speculate away! Did you shift your consciousness to the far past in a Lizard's body? Does that thing turn humans into lizards? (the statues hint that there were different kinds of lizards) Do you become a pawn to the Elder Ones? Again, I'm not entirely sure what happened here. But you do seem to turn into a lizard of some sort, prolly the same lizard people you've been meeting along the way. The other ending you ignore the hallucionogenic, move forward into the ruins until you reach this weird structure which teleport you somewhere else. But what happens exactly? My understanding is that the main character keeps shifting his consciousness through time. The ending's name is also "conarionaut", which hints at what it probably mean. ![]() In one you take the mixture of that hallucinogenic plant beside Dr Faust's corpse, collapse then find yourself in his house where he utters that he has found the answers he was looking for beneath a desert - presumably the catacombs with the constellation puzzle which collapses you were in just a few scenes ago. Okay, so I've found two endings (out of possibly just two, I guess, would love if someone could confirm if there are more). ![]()

![]() ![]() Similar to other loaches, they can handle a wide range of water parameters and would do best in a group of six or more of the same species. At 3.5 inches (9 cm) long, they are slightly shorter than angelicus loaches but have the same sloped nose that is perfect for eating snails, baby shrimp, mollusks, and other invertebrates. Unlike the clown and kuhli loaches that have wide, vertical bands, the zebra loach is covered with lots of skinny stripes. Also, deworm them when you bring them home because they are usually caught from the wild and have a higher likelihood of carrying parasites. If your fish store is able to order some for you, get a bigger group of at least 6-10. However, they’re not the easiest to source and may cost you about $13-20 each. This 4-inch (10 cm) loach doesn’t have a mean bone in its body, is pretty outgoing, and has vibrant, high contrast colors. If you want an upgraded version of the yoyo loach that is slightly smaller and more peaceful, look no further. Angelicus or Polka Dot Loach ( Botia kubotai) Yoyo loaches are great for larger tanks with certain African, Central American, or South American cichlids, but keep them away from invertebrates like snails and shrimp. They have a relatively mild temperament but can get a little ornery with each other, so get a school of at least six to even out any aggression. Some people refer to them as the budget clown loach because they still get fairly large at 5-6 inches (13-15 cm) but only cost $5-8. This popular species gets its common name from the markings that looks like the word “YOYO” spelled out on the side of its body. For more information, read our full care guide. Dwarf chain loaches can be a bit on the pricier side, especially since you need at least 6-10 in a group, but they’re a great alternative for people with smaller planted tanks that need snail control. Not only do they provide a lot of activity around the bottom chasing each other and searching for food, but they also “flutter” their fins and swim in the middle of the tank. At only 2-2.5 inches (5-6 cm) long, this little loach packs a lot of punch when it comes to their personality and the striking, black chain pattern along its body. If you’re looking for a classic, snail-eating loach that doesn’t get very big, consider the dwarf chain loach. Dwarf Chain Loach ( Ambastaia sidthimunki) Learn more about hillstream loaches in our full care guide. Finally, they are relatively easy to breed if you feed lots of good food and have plenty of cover in the fish tank. As with most loaches, they are not picky with their diet and will eat sinking wafers, Repashy gel food, and frozen bloodworms. Plus, they have the added bonus of being excellent algae eaters that will attack hair algae, brown diatoms, and even black beard algae if they’re hungry enough. Their streamlined bodies and powerful fins are capable of clinging onto surfaces in the midst of rushing rapids, but they also do well in regular community aquariums with slower flow. Hillstream loaches are another oddball on our list because they look more like baby stingrays than loaches. Reticulated Hillstream Loach ( Sewellia lineolata) For more details, read our kuhli loach care guide. If you’re looking for a peaceful bottom dweller that only gets up to 4 inches (10 cm) and won’t eat your snails, you have to get a school of kuhli loaches. ![]() You can feed them any kind of community omnivore diet, but they especially love to slurp down worms, such as frozen bloodworms or live blackworms. ![]() As a nocturnal species, they love to hide under fish tank decorations and live plants and then come out to scavenge for food after the lights are out. This zebra-striped oddball fish isn’t for everyone since they can look like a squiggly mass of worms, but they are quite enjoyable and easy to care for. Their funny antics include playing chase with each other, sleeping on their sides like they’re dead, and cramming themselves into tight corners or tubes. If you’re prepared to keep a monster-sized aquarium for 10-20 years, clown loaches are well worth the investment. They also do best at warmer temperatures over 80☏ (27☌) or else they can be prone to diseases such as ich. However, most do not get the proper care they need because they get as big as a foot-long sub sandwich (30 cm) and prefer to live in larger schools of six or more buddies. These gorgeous loaches are popular in the aquarium hobby because of their puppy-like behavior, beautiful black and yellow bands, and red-orange fins. Find out which ones we love the most and how to best care for them. It’s hard to describe this very diverse group of freshwater bottom dwellers, but many of them have a long-bodied shape, scaleless appearance, and whisker-like barbels on their faces. If you’re looking to add a lot of fun and excitement to the bottom third of your fish tank, loaches might be the perfect fit for you. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Lenders do have the option to make the purchase of flood insurance a condition for their loans at any time, and some lenders may institute such requirements in advance of the maps becoming effective. Leon Harris, an anchor at NBC Washington who spent 13 years at WJLA with Hill, said on Tuesday that getting the news about Hill was “a punch in the stomach.” And I loved him for it.” ‘It was the guy’ But he was just such a good leader and just such a good mentor. And it almost makes me tear up when I think about it, because he didn’t have to do that. So he knew, and I was so grateful for that. And Doug was in the military - I mean, he got his training in the Air Force. “And I was telling Doug, and Doug was like, ‘You should leave work right now and go down to North Carolina and surprise him when he gets home.’ And I still had two days of work left, including that full day. Ricketts recounted a story of Hill’s leadership that had nothing to do with the weather: She was working at WJLA during “my first deployment as a military girlfriend,” and told Hill that “my boyfriend at the time, now my husband, had just gotten back from the first deployment that we spent apart together.” Storm Team 4 meteorologist Lauryn Ricketts also watched Hill as a kid, and she said on Tuesday “Doug Hill has been a part of my life from the very beginning, whether he knows that or not - although I reminded him several times when I worked with him over six years.” He said he had seen Hill on TV in Detroit when he was 10 years old, and was stunned when he got to come to D.C. ![]() Later in the day, he told WTOP that “Doug was a big deal, but Doug didn’t act like he was a big deal,” Rudin told WTOP later in the day. Rudin added that “Doug lived modestly donated generously, especially to causes to end food insecurity. Tuesday, Rudin on the air called Hill “a former colleague, mentor and friend” and described him as “the best of the best – one of the most popular and familiar faces on local television.” His good friend, WJLA meteorologist Steve Rudin, told WTOP that Hill was a fiercely private person, was “living his best life” and passed after a short illness. Hill spent more than 17 years at WJLA and more than 15 years on WTOP before retiring to North Carolina with his wife, Mary Ann, in 2017. ![]() Longtime D.C.-area meteorologist Doug Hill has died. Present and former colleagues on Tuesday remembered Doug Hill, who died Monday after having been a meteorologist in the D.C. |
